About the Emergency Preparedness Task Force

Advises Council on community emergency planning and preparedness matters.

Are you interested in emergency preparedness and planning? Perhaps you have a background in public safety, education, healthcare or community involvement that would benefit our research?

The City is recruiting a broad range of citizens to serve on an Emergency Preparedness Task Force.

    The citizen task force will:

    • Review best practices for educating residents with diverse backgrounds on personal and community emergency preparedness
    • Research available resources
    • Research how to plan and train for extreme weather events and major disasters

The group will meet on an as-needed basis for 12 months until the work is completed, and report back to City Council with its findings and recommendations.
